Farmers are invited to a meeting at Huntingdon Racecourse and Newark Showground to discuss support to enhance their business.
Farmers in the East can benefit from free one-to-one business and environmental support by signing-up to Ricardo’s offer as part of Defra’s Future Farming Resilience Fund (FFRF).
By joining the programme, farmers can take advantage of a free meeting looking at untangling the farm accounts. Christine Thompson from Agricultural Business Training will be delivering the workshop at two locations at Newark Showground on Monday, February 20, 1pm - 3.30pm and Huntingdon Racecourse on Tuesday, February 21, 09:30am -12 noon.
FFRF offers a range of support to help farmers prepare for the changes in agricultural policy over the next few years.
This programme includes:
· Up to three days of free one to one business support from an Andersons consultant
· A one-day environmental review
· Personal resilience support - partnering with the Farm Community Network
· A programme of webinars and workshops located at Newark Showground and Huntingdon Racecourse
Christine Thompson said: “The workshops will provide practical tips in farmer language to help participants better understand their accounts and use them as a practical business management tool.”
The meeting at Huntingdon is being hosted by Mary Dimambro and Newark will be hosted by Andrew Wells, both are regional co-ordinators for the programme.
Those signed-up for Ricardo’s FFRF offer will also be able to attend other workshops being held at these locations throughout the year looking at topics including environmental advice and the Sustainable Farming Incentive.
