Staff at a retirement service in Doddington are celebrating after its restaurant received the highest food hygiene rating, following a recent inspection.
Sanctuary Supported Living’s retirement community, Doddington Court, which offers apartments and communal facilities for the over 60s and people with long-term care needs, passed with flying colours to receive a Food Hygiene Rating of five, following an inspection of its onsite Taste restaurant by the Food Standards Agency.
The service’s popular Taste restaurant is open to family, friends and members of the public for breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the year and regularly caters for resident events including fundraising for good causes.
Agnes Owen, chef manager, said: “We’re all extremely proud of our achievement.
"Our hospitality and catering team take a lot of time to ensure we’re offering home-cooked food that appeals to all our residents and visitors tastes and dietary requirements.
"The certificate means all the more as it’s testament to everyone’s hard work and commitment to keeping everyone well-fed.”
The facility is set between Chatteris and Benwick and is open from 9am – 3pm and members of the public are welcome to visit for breakfast, lunch or takeaway, with home-cooked roast dinners available on Sundays.
