Residents at Willow Court Extra Care Scheme in Whittlesey crowned the service’s very own king and queen as part of their celebrations for the King’s Coronation over the weekend.
Trevor Daisley, 67, and Winifred Redhead, 90, celebrated together with staff and residents at the retirement community, who came together to watch the television coverage, enjoy a traditional spread and take part in a royal quiz.
Trevor said: “It is a great honour to bestowed with the kingdom of Willow Court, on the same day as his Royal Highness King Charles III.
"I thoroughly enjoyed all the pageantry and the ceremony; and I thought the concert was the best royal concert I have ever seen.”
Winifred, who has lived in the area for her whole life, was crowned alongside fellow resident Trevor with an inflatable crown each. She added: “I think King Charles will make a good king; and I really enjoyed the celebrations.”
