After four long years apart, there were celebrations at a learning disability education college for adults when FACET in March teamed up with the St Peter’s Mother’s Union Group to enjoy an afternoon of songs, tea and coffee and all-round entertainment.
The FACET students wowed the audience by performing a number of hits including 'This Is Me' from The Greatest Showman movie, 'Sweet Caroline' and many others – and they also used Makaton Sign Language to ensure the afternoon was inclusive for all.
Hannah Taylor, the group leader of the Mother’s Union, and its members, were given a tour of the centre by FACET manager Kris Harrold before donating a cheque to the FACET charity organisation.
Kris said: “It’s great to be able to welcome visitors back to FACET after so long.
“The students work tirelessly on rehearsing these show’s so seeing a live audience again gave everyone involved a huge smile.
“The Mother’s Union donation is a lovely gesture and really helps us. We look forward to putting on more performances for them in the years to come.”
The Mother’s Union meets on the first Tuesday of the month at St Peter’s Church Hall in March.
