A Fenland community has rallied in the search to find a rescue dog who went missing in Chatteris last night (Sunday July 23).
Black and white female cockapoo Bonnie went missing from the Doddington Road area when her lead broke - just hours after she was picked up from Woodgreen Animal Centre by her new owners Adam Hudson and Amber Gooderson.
Hundreds of people have since shared a social media appeal to help find Bonnie, who was previously called Onyx, and a drone is expected to be flown over the area this afternoon when the weather allows.
Owner, Adam Hudson, said: "It's a real shame as we literally only got her yesterday and her lead broke so she doesn't know where home is yet."
He added that Bonnie ran into the Fillenham Way building site (near the Green Welly cafe) and that he is unsure which direction she headed in from there.
"She is an extremely nervous rescue pup and is unlikely to approach strangers," he added.
"She does not know the local area and it's unlikely that she will find her way home on her own.
"She will bolt if she hears shouting or other loud noises, but she loves dogs."
If anyone has seen Bonnie or has any information, please call Adam on 07341 554438.
