GP surgeries in this Cambridgeshire region including March, Manea, Chatteris and Whittlesey have received below national average for overall patient satisfaction.
This comes following an NHS England's annual GP Patient Survey for 2023, which highlighted whether patients were happy with their surgeries after completing a questionnaire.
The patients were asked to rate their experiences of using the doctor’s surgery based on a range of categories including experience of ease of getting through the phone, making an appointment, reception staff, how often they see or speak to their preferred doctor, satisfaction of opening times, how easy is it to use the surgery website and overall satisfaction with the practice.
The national approval rating across England for 2023 marked a fall from 72 per cent last year and the lowest score since the GP Patients Survey began in 2017.
Out of the five surgeries in the region, The Cathedral View surgery in March measured the highest with just over 63 per cent overall satisfaction and 71 per cent for helpful reception staff and 41 per cent measure for ease of booking an appointment.
Parson Drove Surgery in Wisbech came a close second for overall satisfaction with 62 per cent. However, it received the highest measure for helpful reception staff with just over 86 per cent.
George Clare Surgery, in Chatteris, received 55 per cent for patient satisfaction and 27.7 per cent for how often patients saw or spoke to their preferred GP.
New Queens Street Surgery, in Whittlesey, came at the bottom of the spectrum for this region with just 43 per cent for patient satisfaction and only 7 per cent for how often patients saw or spoke to their preferred GP.
It also rceived the lowest measure for ease of getting through the phone (19 per cent) and ease of booking an appointment (28 per cent).
Jenner Healthcare Centre performed just better with 56 per cent overall satisfaction.
NHS England highlighted though that only a handful of patients completed the survey at some practices, so the figures may not reflect an entirely accurate picture of each surgery's performance.
