Arsonists set fire to a derelict house on the Forty Foot River last night (Monday August 7).
Crews from Ramsey and Chatteris were called to the blaze on Forty Foot Bank in Ramsey Forty Foot at 9.28pm.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a derelict house.
They extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet and returned to their stations by 1.15am.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
A Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were alerted by the fire service at 9.40pm yesterday (August 7) to a large fire at a derelict building at Forty Foor Bank in Ramsey.
"We assisted the fire service with traffic control. The road was fully reopened just before midnight.
"Enquiries are ongoing as to how the fire started.
"Anyone who has any information is asked to call 101 quoting 35/59265/23."
