A popular discount retailer is to open a new store in March next week. 

Poundstretcher is taking over the former M&Co store at 13/15 Broad Street.

An official grand opening is due to take place on Monday September 4 at 9am - and bargain hunters are encouraged to get down early.

To celebrate the opening, there will be a summer sale including half-price on thousands of products.

The store will also include a large pet section under the Pet Hut which has everything for dogs, cats, small pets and wild birds.

The new opening is part of a series of new stores openings across the UK, meaning that March becomes the 18th store to open this year as part of the Poundstretcher group.

New members of staff (both part and full time) from the local area have been recruited to work at the store.
