Families, residents and visitors enjoyed a huge programme of entertainment as Whittlesey Festival returned after three years away due to Covid-19.
The programme included an opening parade, huge variety of live music and dance, a large classic vehicle show which included 150 cars, craft fair, art exhibition, stalls, street food, games and fun.
Highlights of the Sunday event included the Black Eagles Tanzanian Acrobatic and Dance Group and the festival finale including Romford Drum and Trumpet Corps Marching Band and Peterborough Highland Pipe Band.
There was also lots of free rides and fun for children thanks to the move by the organising committee to get certain rides sponsored.
These included bumper cars, zorbs, tea cups, inflatables and a climbing wall.
Cllr Peter Murphy, Fenland District Council's portfolio holder for markets and events, said: “FDC is delighted to have been able to support the return of Whittlesey Festival.
“Credit has to go to the dedicated festival committee for making the event such a huge success. It was clearly very popular.
“I know they would also want to express their gratitude to all the sponsors, businesses, entertainers and everyone involved who made it the massive community success it was.
“The weather provided challenges throughout with it being extremely hot and then a very heavy downpour towards the end of the event but none of it dampened the joy of the day.”
