Retired journalist Chris Phillips has published a 22-page memoir about growing up in Whittlesey in the 1940s/60s.
Though mostly about family, it has references of broader interest - the brickyards, local shops (Searles, the florist, and Brown's newsagents, etc) Hart's cinema and the Sir Harry Smith School where he was educated.
"The main aim of this booklet is the hope that some reader may come across a reference and think 'ah, I remember that', or 'I remember them'," said Chris, who now lives in Stevenage.
