A resident of a Fenland village has described the “shocking” moment she stepped outside her house to see a neighbouring garage and car on fire.
The blaze, which also involved a house, happened in Fen View, Doddington, earlier this evening.
The neighbour who witnessed the incident said: “We were alerted that the house next door was on fire by another neighbour,” she said.
“We came out to find the car and garage alight and the house filling with smoke, which was quite shocking.”
The neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that a fire engine arrived extremely quickly and then three more arrived from various stations.
She added: “It was under control very quickly and no one was harmed in the process.”
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire & Service said: "We were called at 5.38pm to Fen View in Doddington to reports of a house fire.
"Four fire engines were sent as well as an aerial appliance.
"The fire also involved a garage and car.”
