A volunteer group that organises a Fenland village’s Christmas lights display is aiming to raise £1,000 for this year’s festivities.
The Doddington Christmas Lights Committee set up a JustGiving page so that people can donate towards running costs.
Robert Elmore, who set up the page, said: “Doddington Christmas Lights Committee endeavours to continue to light up the village during the festive period with its Christmas Lights Display.
“The newly-formed committee of 2023 will continue the work of the previous committee who worked extremely hard to ensure Doddington had an impressive display each year.
“Christmas starts very early for the lights committee each year in preparing and maintaining the lights themselves, building the display along with preparing the switch-on event.
“The Doddington Christmas Lights display would not not happen without the fundraising efforts and the generous donations received from the community which everyone is very grateful for.
“This page has been setup to make it easier for the community to donate to this cause. All donations received will go towards making Doddington a festive village each year.”
