The beating heart of a Fenland school community has retired after 40 years.
Sue Lambert spent four decades as Cavalry Primary School's crossing patrol officer, and 38 years as a midday supervisor/cleaner.
A Cavalry spokesperson said: "She has been a friendly face to so many children and families for all those years, keeping children safe with her 'lollipop' whatever the weather, as well as taking care of them across lunchtime."
While the school said "a sad farewell and happy retirement" to her, they also held a tea party where pupils from each year group came to give Mrs Lambert their handmade cards.
Families and staff members attended too, to say thank you and goodbye.
"We are sure many people in the Cavalry community will also join us in wishing our wonderful Mrs Lambert a very happy and well-deserved retirement."
