Officers stopped a vehicle speeding through Whittlesey – and then found out the driver was not insured.
Cambridgeshire Police say they were conducting nighttime patrols of rural building sites and farmland across the Fens at the time.
A post on the Policing Fenland Facebook page said: “Response officers were out conducting nighttime patrols of the building sites and farmland in Chatteris, Manea, Doddington, and Wimblington, looking out for any concerns or suspicious behaviour but nothing was raised on this occasion.
“During these patrols, a car driving at a high speed through Whittlesey caught our eye!
“We stopped the car and ended up seizing it and reporting the driver after they were found to not have any insurance, meaning they had a long walk home ahead of them.”
It continued: “That is another uninsured driver off our roads before any potential harm could be caused.”
The social media post did not reveal when the incident happened.
