A BMW was seized in Chatteris after the driver was seen acting suspiciously and paying a little too much attention to police.
The vehicle was spotted in Bridge Street by special constables over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Specials are part-time volunteer police officers, sworn in by a magistrate in the same way as a regular officer.
"They work alongside their regular colleagues, are based at the same police stations, have the same powers in law, including the power of arrest, and wear the same uniform.
"Applications are currently open. To find out more about the role of a special, including how many hours the role requires and more FAQS, see our dedicated website page.
