A care home in Doddington commemorated the 80th anniversary of D-Day with an afternoon of festiities.
Askham Village Community residents enjoyed a special screening of the Dunkirk film to kick off the celebrations.
They then enjoyed tea, complete with scones, sandwiches, coffee, and juice.
The atmosphere was filled with music from the D-Day Darlings and residents enjoyed a fun sing-along session 🎤🎶
The day was made extra special by the visit of David and John Saunders, who dressed in period attire, brought fascinating items, and shared their stories with residents.
"Celebrating 80 years since D-Day was a milestone event through which we tried to honour our history while bringing a sense of togetherness within our community," said a spokesperson for Askham Village Community.
