A Fenland woman was listed to appear in court accused of causing “unnecessary suffering” to a dog and a cat.
Vicki Bates, of St Peter’s Road, March, is being prosecuted for three counts related to the animals by the RSPCA.
The 33-year-old was featured on listings for Cambridgeshire Magistrates’ Court in Peterborough on Wednesday (June 5).
Two of the counts were related to the treatment of a female Jack Russel type dog called Jam.
The listing says that between September 5 and October 5 last year Bates is claimed to have failed to “address the causes of [the animal’s] poor bodily condition and weight loss”.
During the same period, she is also accused of failing to get “proper and necessary veterinary care and attention for [the animal’s] chronic skin condition”.
For the white female cat called Joey, the listing claims Bates failed to get the feline’s eye condition treated by a vet between October 3, 2022 and October 5, 2023.
Court files say Bates indicated guilty pleas for all three counts ahead of Wednesday's hearing.
She has been remanded on unconditional bail and the cases adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
The next hearing is due to take place at Peterborough Court House on July 9, 2024.
