Police pulled over a driver for driving on the A141 - and then found suspected stolen items in the vehicle.
Officers say they stopped the car in Chatteris last night (Thursday) to speak to the driver and make sure they were well.
A post on the Policing Fenland Facebook page says: “Our suspicions continued while speaking to them as they gave us very vague answers and even tried to avoid answering our questions.
“After establishing they had lied to us about where they had been, we searched the driver and the vehicle, where we found a large amount of suspected stolen items with the tags still attached.”
The suspected stolen items include electric toothbrush heads, razor blades, calculators and television remote controls.
Some still had security tags on them.
Both the driver and his passenger were arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop.
According to the social media post, they both remain in custody at the King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre.
