A popular village carnival and sports day will return to a Fenland village this weekend with a moving parade.
Doddington Village Carnival takes place on Saturday (July 6), and the procession - which last year was stationary - will see decorated trailers and tractors travel through the village.
It will also be a chance to see the many scarecrows that have been created by local families in line with this year’s theme of major sporting events.
"We're excited to announce that we are moving this year,” say the volunteer-run organising committee.

“Come out and see the fantastic array of floats, bands and vehicles on display, each to tie-in to this year's theme and show-off the creativeness of the village.”
To create a safe environment during the carnival procession, a road closure - which residents are aware of - is enforced.
During the morning, food will be available from The Three Tuns and local band Brightside will also perform.
The George pub will also have bouncy castles, an outside bar and food in the morning, as well as DJ Vern playing from 11am to 4.30pm.
In the afternoon, dogs are welcome on the playing field and QR codes will be visible for those who would like to take part for any of the races.
The official schedule for this year’s event is below:
9.30am - road closure through the village
9:30am - fancy dress competition
10:30am - the start of the carnival parade
12pm - anticipated end of the carnival parade
12.30pm - road re-opens
1.30pm - gates open to the sports afternoon
Among the groups and activities at the field will be Insane Terrain, Doddington FC, Doddington Short Mat Bowls, March Bears Rugby Club, March Town Cricket Club, Chatteris Tennis Club, Community Kicks and March Athletic Club.
Doddington Women's Institute will be selling tea and cakes at the field and Doddington Scouts will be running a BBQ.
