Free summer holiday family fun has been added to the Fenland exercise programme.
Fenland District Council’s Active Fenland has organised free and low-cost activities suitable for all ages and abilities.
New additions to the programme include free family running sessions and outdoor yoga.
Other activities like tea dances are slated to continue throughout the month.
Cllr Alex Miscandlon, portfolio holder for leisure for the Fenland District Council, urged the community to participate.
He said: “We encourage everyone to take a look at the Active Fenland timetable and see if there’s a session for them.
“Active Fenland is all about providing accessible, low cost and free wellness and activity to the whole community for the benefit of Fenland as a whole.”
Free family running sessions are planned between July 23 to August 27.
These will be held in March and Wisbech with age restrictions in place due to the certification of the instructors.
Meanwhile, free family yoga sessions will be held in the beautiful garden at the National Trust’s Peckover House, making them accessible to both members and non-members.
Other activities planned include 'Marvellous Movers Family Sport Activities'.
These will take place at district libraries.
No booking is required for these sessions.
Furthermore, tea dances are also continuing this month.
They will include dance tuition and free light snacks for participants, catering to dancers of all abilities.
Active Fenland is supported by grant funding aimed at promoting more active lifestyles, especially for people facing barriers to staying active.
Active Fenland is also a keen supporter of volunteer-led parkruns taking place in March, Whittlesey, and Wisbech.
Residents can take a look at the full programme, which also includes free family treasure hunt sheets, online or contact Active Fenland directly for more information and booking.
