Two Fenland schools are banning female pupils from wearing skirts.
Neale Wade Academy in March and Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech made the decision following a consultation with parents.
The survey found that the majority of people were in favour of the change, because parents and carers felt that skirts are currently too short.
In a letter sent out to parents that has been seen by this newspaper, principal Graham Horn said: "The survey has shown us that parents are in favour of the school changing the uniform policy for the next academic year.
"Therefore, I write to confirm that next academic year students in Year 7 to 11 will be permitted to wear trousers or tailored shorts and that skirts will not be allowed to be won in school."
Neale Wade Academy in March is run by The Active Learning Trust, while Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech is run by the Brooke Weston Trust.
