A Fenland care home celebrated World Chocolate Day on July 7 with a Willy Wonka-themed Afternoon Tea Party.
Kat Colangelo, head of activities, oversaw an enjoyable selection of chocolate and sweet treats for the staff and residents Hickithrift House Care Home.
The tea party featured chocolate logs, cupcakes, chocolate fudge cake and giant lollipops, coupled with word games and the popular film.
General manager, Paula Colman, said: “It wasn’t just the residents that were excited when we found out there was a World Chocolate Day, the eyes of all our staff lit up too and our minds raced with ideas.
Residents, donned various costumes, happily participated in the celebrations, indulging in a variety of treats.
A resident, Barbara, expressed her delight for the event, citing her love for chocolate.
She said: “I have always loved anything to do with chocolate, I don’t think there are many people that don’t.
"I have eaten so much delicious chocolate today, I think this has to be one of my favourite themed celebrations.
"Just filled with pure imagination.”
