Families in Cambridgeshire can receive supermarket vouchers this summer holiday through a council-led scheme.
Cambridgeshire County Council is again operating the supermarket voucher scheme, which entitles eligible families to two vouchers for their shopping over the long summer break.
The vouchers are worth £37.50 each. One was issued via email and/or text on July 20, while the next will be issued on August 10.
However, any children who become eligible up until September 2 will receive the vouchers. They must be claimed by 3pm on October 4.
Councillor Bryony Goodliffe, chair of Cambridgeshire County Council’s children and young people committee said: “I am proud that we are able to continue providing supermarket vouchers to eligible families.
"We know from the feedback we receive how grateful they are as the pressures from the rising cost-of-living continue to bite.
"Many families worry about how they will feed their children during the summer holiday when they have been eligible for free school meals during term time, and the voucher scheme helps them with this – while enabling them to buy wholesome and healthy food at the same time.
"This is all part of our ambition to be a fairer and more caring council.”
The details on how to apply for Free School Meals - and be eligible for the supermarket vouchers - are accessible by clicking here. You need to fill out an application form which requires details for an eligibility check.
Each successful application brings up to £1,500 additional funding for the child's school.
