Free cycling lessons and bike health checks will be available at two Fenland schools this summer.
The two 'Learn to Ride' and 'Doctor Bike' days are being organised by cycling and walking charity Sustrans in collaboration with Cambs County Council.
The events will be held at Cromwell College in Chatteris on August 13, from 9am to 3.30pm, and at All Saints Inter Church Academy in March on August 29, during the same hours.
The initiative aims to teach primary aged children to cycle and offer a free bike check where any minor adjustments or repairs will be made free of charge.
Sustrans' Bike It officer Steve Clarke said: “This a great opportunity to get your child riding independently and off those stabilisers.
“We can usually get children riding within the hour session and it’s great to see both them and their parents’ excitement at cracking such an important life skill.”
Everyone interested in the 'Learn to Ride' and 'Doctor Bike' sessions must book in advance.
