Fenland District Council has again pledged its solid support for the Armed Forces community.
The council reaffirmed their commitment with an updated district covenant, enhancing their 2011 Armed Forces Community Covenant that supports all military sectors within the council.
Cllr Susan Wallwork, whose role involves overseeing communities, said: “We were delighted to sign the covenant to revalidate our commitment to the Armed Forces Community and proud to become the first of the district and county Cambridgeshire authorities to do so.
“We recognise the contribution that service personnel, both regular and reservist, veterans and military families make to all of us, our community and to the country.”

This covenant will help to shield Armed Forces Community members from suffering any detriments tied to their service when it comes to public and commercial operations.
It also commits to providing special provisions in particular situations, mainly to those most affected instances such as injury or bereavement.
