Students at Cromwell Community College are celebrating "outstanding" A-Level results today (August 15) as they prepare for the next steps into their future.
70 per cent of the Year 13s at the Chatteris college applied for university, with 35 per cent of them setting their sites on the "prestigious" Russell Group Universities.
The college is now sending off its latest cohort to pastures new, including in fields such as nursing, material science, archaeology, cyber security, ecology and aeronautical engineering.
The University of Durham, the University of Sheffield and the University of Southampton are just some of the places that the students are preparing to head off to.
Not all of those collecting their A-Level results from Cromwell Community College are heading to university however, with some choosing to dive straight into professions like policing, the NHS and estate agency.
Others are taking on higher-level apprenticeships with Bidwells and Tesco.
Heather Paul, director of sixth form at Cromwell Community College, praised the commitment and determination demonstrated by this year's students.
She said: "Our students have shown exceptional determination to their studies. Their hard work has really paid off and they are now prepared to embark on their next adventures as independent young adults. I am incredibly proud of them all."
Jane Horn, executive headteacher at Cromwell Community College, said that she is "thrilled" to see so many students starting down the career path.
