A popular pub in March has reopened after a £75,000 makeover by pub owner Greene King Pub Partners.
The Acre, on Acre Road, will now be operated by independent landlords Chelsea and Mishah.
The new design, say Greene King, "gives the pub a trendy, modern feel whilst maintaining a true traditional pub experience".
Outside, the pub has a new covered area providing shade and seating, as well as enabling use of the outdoor space at the pub all year round.
Along with its makeover, the new-look pub has a new food menu based on artisan pizza and soul food, including ‘soul bowls’.
The Acre will also serve handmade cocktails.
Chelsea and Mishash, licensees of The Acre in March, said: “We are over the moon to become landlords of The Acre!
“Our aim with the pub is to make it a bit more unique and different to other pubs in the local area.
“While we are still a traditional ‘proper’ pub – our craft beers, unique interior, artisan pizza and cocktails are an exciting addition to March.
“Thanks to the £75,000 investment, the pub is looking better than ever.
“Our collaboration with the Greene King Brewery means we have a really cool and unique look – no other pub in the UK has that and we really are one of a kind.
“We look forward to welcoming all the community back to our new look pub.”
Lee Jarvis, business development manager for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “Our £75,000 investment has upgraded The Acre into a modern and exciting pub perfect for drinks and great food.
“The pub is still a traditional local at heart but it now provides a unique experience for the pub-goers of March.”
