Plans have been submitted for a brand new BMW 'pump track' to be built in a park in March.

Fenland District Council have put forward the plans for West End Park. If approved, it would see a "small, looping trail" for BMX riders at the park, according to the planning application form.

The description of the track on the form reads: "The track will be a small, looping trail, linking a series of rollers to steeply bermed corners that bring riders back around allowing you to ride a bike continuously without even pedalling.

The pump track gets its names from the corners - riders "gain momentum by simply 'pumping' out of any corners", which is what will deliver speed on the track.

The aim is to not only encourage BMXers to take to the park, but skateboarders, scooters, roller skaters, and also wheelchair users.

The description states: "It will be free and accessible to use and provide regular opportunity for riders to progress, gain confidence and importantly have fun!"

The track is planned to sit just north of The Bowl.
