A 12-hour weather waning for heavy rain was issued for Cambridgeshire earlier this morning.
The Met Office issued the yellow waning, which is in force from 12am today (September 23) until 11.59pm.
The warning covers many parts of England and Wales and is in force across the whole of Cambridgeshire.
A "yellow" warning, meaning disruption could occur, will also cover the entire region.
The Met Office said some areas could see 30-50mm of rain, and a few places may receive 100-120mm or more.
Parts of Cambridgeshire saw heavy thunderstorms on Saturday into Sunday, leading to flooding and road closures.
The yellow warning has been upgraded to amber in northern parts of the county, including Peterborough, Yaxley and surrounding areas.
The Met Office warning states: "Areas of of heavy rain are expected to affect many parts of England and Wales during Monday.
"There is still some uncertainty regarding which areas will be affected by the heaviest rain, but at this stage parts of the Midlands, northeast England and east Wales look most likely to see the greatest accumulations.
"However, anywhere within the warning area could have impactful rainfall through the course of Monday.
"There is potential that 30-50 mm could develop in any part of the warning area, much of which could fall in six hours or less.
"Some locations could see 80-100 mm over the course of 12 to 24 hours."
