A bingo night in the Fens raised more than £1,200 to support local causes.
Organised by Doddington-based Askham Village Community, the event at Manea British Legion on August 31 saw an incredible turnout from the local community.
£250 of the funds raised were donated to the Doddington Christmas Lights Committee in support of their festive preparations.
Local businesses and sponsors who donated prizes and services included Creed, Able, Tess’s Hair Design, March Quality Meats, Doddington’s Farm Shop and Tesco.
The Manea British Legion provided the venue and offered drinks throughout the night. Their own burger van was on-site, too.
The associate director of Askham Village Community said: “It’s wonderful to see so many people coming together to support Askham Village Community and Askham Rehab.
“It’s heartening to see not only our own team members supporting such a good cause, but also the sponsors, recipients of the event, and the wider community joining forces.
“We are elated to work more closely with the community and to support initiatives like the Doddington Christmas Lights Committee.
“We’re also excited to see more of the local community visiting our café in Doddington, which is open seven days a week, and an increasing footfall on all community and charity events throughout the year.”
