An appeal has been launched to help a Fenland town light up this Christmas.
Chatteris Christmas Lights Committee, an organisation made up of just eight volunteers, said it hopes to raise £2,000 to continue the display amid rising costs.
The town's light display has grown significantly since first launching 38-years-ago and the group said that while it "prides itself" on the addition of new items to the display, costs have increased.
Since its first display in 1985, the committee has raised £200,000 through grants, collections, raffles and many other events to maintain and expand the scheme.
Simon Wilson, from the lights committee said: "There’s just eight people that form the Christmas Lights Committee and they’re all doing something every month to ensure the lights can go ahead.
"We couldn’t do this without our amazing volunteer team who come out in all weathers to put the lights up and without your donations.
"If you can help us in any way then please get in contact, we need more volunteers to help and as always every single penny you donate helps keep the lights going."
Collection boxes will be kept in more than 30 businesses throughout Chatteris during October to help raise funds.
In November, the committee will sell tickets for its prize draw at a stall in the high street while also collecting donations.
