A school in the Fens has banned the use of several words in relation to the reporting of student absences.
Neale-Wade Academy in March is no longer accepting the phrases 'ill', 'poorly' or 'unwell'.
'Period pains' (without medical information) and 'has a cold' are also to be refused.
In a letter sent to parents and guardians, the school said the change is in place with immediate effect.
"Communications made using these and similar terms will be recorded as unauthorised," added the letter.

The Cambs Times has since contacted The Active Learning Trust which runs the school and Graham Horn, principal at Neale-Wade Academy, sent the following statement.
He said: “At Neale-Wade Academy, we prioritise student well-being and recognise that regular attendance is crucial for academic success.
“In line with new statutory guidance from the Department for Education and Cambridgeshire Local Authority, effective August 19, we are implementing changes to our attendance policies including how student absence is reported to the school.
“These changes include increased support for students at risk of persistent absence and potential legal consequences for unauthorised absences.
“We appreciate the cooperation of parents and carers as we work together to ensure the best educational outcomes for all our students.”
