A vehicle’s crash notification system alerted police to a serious collision on a remote Fenland track, an inquest has heard.
The Jaguar’s technology was able to guide officers to the incident which happened on a track close to Skylark Farm in Wimblington, near March.
Melanie Gowler, 47, was rescued from the vehicle – which was found upside down in a water-filled ditch – and taken to Peterborough City Hospital.
She died later in hospital, the coroner said.
The incident happened in the early hours of September 29 and brief details were revealed during an inquest opening on Thursday (October 11).

Caroline Jones, an area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, conducted the brief hearing at Lawrence Court, Huntingdon.
Ms Jones said: “The fire and ambulance services attended and assisted in rescuing the driver of the vehicle.
“CPR was commenced, and Melanie was removed by ambulance [and taken] to hospital but sadly died in the coronary care unit.”
Referring to the post-mortem, she added: “The result of that examination is awaiting toxicology and therefore the matter [of the inquest] stands adjourned for a date to be fixed in seven months’ time.
“The matter will be heard before me, and I therefore adjourn until that date which will be fixed in due course.
“I express my condolences to the family of Melanie Gowler.”
Mrs Gowler was the outside catering manager at Skylark, a well-known garden centre and popular car boot venue.
The business is owned by her husband Edward.
A tribute released on Facebook after the tragedy said: "It is with great sadness that on Sunday (September 29) we lost Melanie Gowler (owner of the snack bar).
"Our thoughts are now with Edward and their four children."
It closed by saying: "R.I.P. Mel, you'll be sadly missed."
