A first-generation family-owned pumpkin farm is preparing for another busy Halloween with Aldi.
Located in Wisbech, Fen Farming has been supplying pumpkins to Britain’s fourth largest supermarket since 2013, and will this year introduce a wider range than ever before.
The pumpkins will be available in stores across the UK, with a range of different sizes including a giant pumpkin so shoppers can create even bigger, spookier designs.
The grower will supply more than half a million pumpkins to Aldi over the Halloween period this year, an increase from 25,000 when the partnership first began.
This ongoing partnership with Aldi has allowed the farm to continue investing and bettering its products, trialling new varieties and investing more than £750,000 over the past five years alone to improve its growing, storage and packaging operation.
Stuart Gibson, sales manager at Fen Farming, said: “Thanks to the ongoing success of our partnership with Aldi, we are excited to once again be supplying the supermarket with our pumpkins this year.
“Our new giant pumpkins are set to be a popular choice with customers, and they’re just one example of how we’ve managed to better our growing process and crop yield over recent years. In the coming years, we hope to further develop this to see what other weird and wonderful colours and shapes of pumpkins we can offer shoppers across the UK.”
Julie Ashfield, managing director of Buying at Aldi UK, added: “Fen Farming is a much-loved supplier over the Halloween period, and we are delighted to be furthering our partnership with their giant pumpkins this year.
“At Aldi, we champion British farming - not just over the Halloween period, but throughout the year – and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our long-term supplier partnerships for years to come.”
