This year's outdoor ice rink in Cambridge will be "bigger and better" than ever, say organisers.

The ice rink will be part of the Christmas in Cambridge event at Parker's Piece.

It will be the biggest rink the city has ever seen, measuring 1,000 square metres.

Simon Brooks, director of Christmas in Cambridge, said: “We’re thrilled to bring back an outdoor ice rink to Cambridge for the Christmas period, and we’ve gone all out to make it bigger and better than before.

"This year’s rink is not just a winter attraction – it’s an essential part of the festive fun for both locals and visitors.”

The rink can be enjoyed by seasoned skaters or first-timers, with both buckle skates and lace-up hockey skates available to hire.

Custom-made skate aids are also available for children, who can either push or sit on them.

Bookings can also be made for heated snow domes, which are perfect for gatherings and offer views of the rink.

The domes also come with charcuterie platters.

The rink is one of the highlights of the Christmas in Cambridge event, which will also feature a Christmas market, a big wheel, a Christmas tree maze and an alpine lodge.

The rink will be open from November 14 until January 5, and tickets are available to purchase online now.
