Nineteen new homes are set to be built on the site of a former gas depot.
Fenland council has agreed proposals to develop the disused site near the centre of Wisbech.
Developer Achi-tekt Partnership applied to build two-storey, three-bed properties on the site off Chase Street.
It said in a planning statement it would create "a quality residential development served off a private shared surface driveway".
The site is currently empty and mainly covered in concrete hard standing.
A council planning officer's report on the development said: "The redevelopment of this brownfield site within one of the key settlements of the district is welcomed."
Wisbech Town Council also supported the plans, which have been passed on condition work on the development begins within three years, with roads and pathways completed before any homes are built.
