London-bound commuters in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire have faced rail delays this morning (Monday, February 7).
Network Rail reduced the speed of trains in Cambridgeshire between Peterborough and St Neots to urgently replace a section of track.
This caused disruption between Peterborough and Stevenage, with delays of up to 15 minutes for Thameslink, Great Northern and long-distance trains on the route.
The works have since been completed.
A Thameslink statement reads: "The fault has been rectified and we can run normally again between Peterborough and St Neots."
The company had previously said: "Services are experiencing delays of up to 15 minutes between Peterborough and St Neots.
"This is impacting London-bound services.
"Please allow extra time for your journey this morning."
Disruption was expected to continue between Peterborough and Stevenage until 9am, according to National Rail Enquiries.
There were also Thameslink delays south of London this morning due to a signal failure between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges in West Sussex.
This caused delays to trains between Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and the south coast.
